Assistant Psychologist
Join our innovative Psychology and Wellbeing Service as an Assistant Psychologist and play a key role in improving outcomes for children and young people across Windsor and Maidenhead. Working alongside Educational Psychologists, you'll support the delivery of our Experts at Hand programme, helping schools, early years settings and families provide inclusive, evidence-based support for children and young people with SEND. From contributing to systemic projects and group interventions to analysing data, delivering training and shaping service improvements, this is a varied and rewarding role offering excellent development opportunities for an aspiring psychology professional looking to make a meaningful impact in children's services.
About the role
As an Assistant Psychologist, you'll work alongside experienced Educational Psychologists to help deliver high-quality psychological and wellbeing support that improves outcomes for children and young people across Windsor and Maidenhead. Supporting our innovative Experts at Hand programme, you'll collaborate with schools, early years settings, colleges and families to strengthen early intervention, promote inclusion and help children and young people with SEND thrive in mainstream education.
No two days are the same. You'll contribute to a wide range of meaningful work, including supporting systemic projects, delivering evidence-based group interventions, analysing data and evaluating impact, undertaking research and school-based audits, and helping to shape services through high-quality reports and insights. About you
We're looking for a passionate and motivated psychology graduate who is eager to develop their career while making a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people. You'll enjoy working collaboratively, be naturally curious, and have a genuine commitment to promoting inclusion and improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A 2:1 degree (or above) in Psychology and eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (or a recognised Psychology Master's).
- Experience of working with children and young people in educational, community or related settings.
- An understanding of SEND, inclusive practice and the importance of early intervention.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, schools and professionals.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work independently with supervision.
- Experience analysing information, using data to inform practice and producing clear, high-quality reports.
- A commitment to equality, diversity and safeguarding, with a child-centred approach in everything you do.
- Confidence using digital systems, including Microsoft or Google applications, to manage information and support service delivery.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
