We are looking for a qualified School Nurse (SCPHN) to join our small team in delivering key aspects of the Health Child programme. Current registration as Public Health Nurse (School Nursing) with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) is essential.
About the role
We are looking for a School Nurse to join our team at a time of exciting and positive change.
As a School Nurse for Achieving for Children, you will be responsible for
- Managing and delivering care for families, children and communities working in partnership with team members and service users.
- Providing a proactive, responsive service based on identified health needs whilst leading the delivery of the universal Healthy Child Programme (5-19 yrs).
- Ensuring effective delegation, workload management and monitoring of care standards.
- Working collaboratively with other health care professionals and agencies ensuring a seamless delivery of services for children and families within the community.

About you
You will be passionate about delivering quality services to children, young people and their families.
You key responsibilities will include:
- To promote and support health enhancing activities/programmes to meet child population health needs.
- To provide targeted health interventions to children and young people with identified health needs.
- To carry out in depth health assessments for Children in Care, those subject to a Child Protection Plan and vulnerable children.
- To work in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and related professional standards, to ensure safe and effective practice, while promoting trust.
- To take a lead role in ensuring that services are compliant with CQC, ensuring that risks are identified and managed accordingly.
