Teacher Support Officer

We are currently recruiting for a Teacher Support Officer to provide administrative support to all staff as part of the central team working under the direction of the Service Support Officer, within Berkshire Sensory Consortium.

This is a part time term time role, the salary shown is the FTE will be pro-rata accordingly.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly team providing essential support to our peripatetic teachers of children with vision impairment and/or deaf/hearing loss throughout Berkshire.
The role involves :

  • General office support for the team including photocopying, printing, scanning and responding to emails from professionals.
  • Database management including the equipment and the pre school groups
  • Creation and production of resources and promotional literature eg for the pre school groups
  • Provide a key role in the organisation of all large external and internal SCS events including marketing, mailshots and registration processes.

The role is hybrid, with the opportunity to work a mix of working from home as well as being office based with a minimum of one day in the office each week once established in the role. Some flexibility to working hours but they will include a Friday and a Monday  be over a minimum of 3 days per week. The hours will be worked during regular school hours and be the same pattern each week.

About you

The successful candidate will need to have:

  • Previous office experience
  • Good administrative and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Google Suite is highly desirable 
  • Enjoyment in the challenge of a diversity of tasks
  • Enthusiasm to take ownership of occasional repetitive tasks
  • An ability to work accurately and independently
